- The Selection of the core purification technology in the water purifier is very important as it defines the amount of minerals the water will have after purification
- There are 3 core technologies in the water purifier. They are Nanofiltration ( NF), Reverse Osmosis ( RO) and Ultra-filtration ( UF).
- There is a simple guideline to select the technology. You get a TDS meter and check the TDS of water. If the TDS is less than 200 ppm go for Ultrafiltration ( UF), if the TDS is between 200-700 ppm go for Nanofiltration ( NF) and if the TDS is more than 700 ppm then only go for Reverse Osmosis (RO).
- Generally if you get municipal water or mixture of municipal and borewell or tanker then Nanofiltration is ideal.
